Burst Biologics is a rapidly-growing, national biotechnology company focused on medical research and cellular/tissue-based products. We are seeking an energetic individual to join our team as a Human Resources Coordinator.

 Description:

Reporting to the Manager of Human Resources, the Human Resources Coordinator helps with and facilitates the human resource processes.  This role administers employee benefit plans and acts as a liaison between employees and insurance providers.  This position resolves benefits-related problems and ensures effective use of plans and positive employee relations.  The human resources coordinator makes certain that plans are administered in accordance with federal/state/local regulations and that provisions are followed.  The human resources coordinator provides administrative support to the Human Resources Manager as needed, including record-keeping, file creation and maintenance as well as HRIS entry.

 Direct Responsibilities:

  • Administers employee benefit programs including enrollments, changes and terminations. Processes required documents through payroll and insurance providers to ensure accurate record-keeping and proper deductions.
  • Assists with reconciliation of benefit statements.
  • Assists with audits of HR related programs, including benefits, and recommends corrective action as needed.
  • Performs customer service functions by answering employee requests and questions.
  • Prepares employee personnel files and maintains accurate, up-to-date information on existing employees.  This includes:  completing Forms I-9, verifying I-9 documentation and maintaining I-9 files.
  • Assists with the processing of terminations. Administers COBRA for group health plans.
  • Schedules meetings and interviews as requested by the Human Resources Manager. Assists, as needed, with recruitment and interview process.
  • Assists with planning and executing events to improve employee morale.
  • Makes photocopies; mails, scans and email documents; and performs other clerical functions.

 Required Skills:

  • Ability to work under pressure with a high attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritize work and handle multiple tasks at the same time
  • Ability to keep confidences and keep work confidential, with a high degree of ethics and compassion
  • Ability to handle employee and management requests in a calm and professional manner
  • Excellent oral/written communication skills
  • Strong efficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Experience with an HRIS program preferred

 Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in HR related field and/or equivalent experience.
  • 2+ years of HR experience

Preferred:

  • SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP)
  • Experience with BambooHR a plus
